FSDI was founded in March 2026 as a Danish voluntary, non-partisan and non-profit organization dedicated to promote and establish democratic change in Iran.
FSDI reflects the widely expressed aspirations of Iranians who seek democratic regime change through peaceful and lawful means.
We believe that Iran’s future must be determined by its people - through democracy, justice, and the rule of law.
FSDI engage in targeted advocacy and lobbying to keep Iran on the political agenda, promoting democracy, human rights, and the rule of law through policy dialogue, briefings, and analysis, while strengthening ties between civil society, diaspora communities, and individuals to support coordinated action for a free and democratic Iran.
Iran is facing a deep political and humanitarian crisis under a repressive regime marked by censorship, violence, and systematic human rights abuses, while contributing to regional instability and international security concerns.
Through advocacy, lobbying, and cooperation, we work to keep Iran on the political agenda and promote democracy, human rights, and change.
Iranians and supporters of the Iranian freedom movement, play a vital role at a time when people inside Iran are cut off from the outside world through restricted internet access and severe censorship. In this context, the diaspora bears a responsibility to ensure that demands for secularism, democracy, and human rights are not silenced or ignored.
